Looking for a gourmet, healthy break? Try avocado toast, an ideal recipe for breakfast, brunch or a picnic in the sun.
This tartine recipe is essentially made with avocado. Its main advantage is that it goes well with a multitude of ingredients such as a slice of salmon, tuna, tomatoes, smoked ham and even a fried egg.
The ideal way to do this is with a slice of le Gillotin bread, a farmhouse loaf made from poppy seed, pumpkin seed, millet, sunflower seed and brown flax. It’s just like all the breads from our bakery: organic, and made with mostly local produce.
To make up your avocado toast, you’ll need :
(for one toast)
- 1 slice of bread
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 avocado
- ½ lemon
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or the vegetable oil of your choice
- Salt, pepper and herbs of your choice
Preparation :
- Peel the garlic clove and pit the avocado.
- Place half the avocado and the garlic clove in a bowl.
- Squeeze the lemon over the avocado to prevent it turning black.
- Mash the avocado and garlic clove until a purée is obtained.
- Add a tablespoon of olive oil, salt, pepper and the herbs of your choice.
- Spread the mixture over the toasted slice of bread.
- You can sprinkle parmesan cheese on top for an extra touch of deliciousness!
Bon appétit! This recipe can be enjoyed with a salad for lunch or a bowl of fruit for breakfast.
